Thank you Adeline, for telling me about the website when I approached
you and told you that I had chosen to write about Eben for a college
writing class. The assignment was to write about a lengendary figure
from my family. Tuff choice for me; Hopson's are a huge family! To
pick one was going to be a difficult because so many have attributed
to great works up here in the North Slope! This website was
incredible source and I'm truely proud to have chosen Eben.

Hi, such a great website. I am researching the life and times of a
Scotsman named Duncan Pryde (1937 - 1997), who lived in Barrow for
about 2 yrs approx 1975/76, and taught native languages at the
Inupiat University. I would really like to hear from anyone in Barrow
who still remembers him. Thanks! Laura Clark

Hi everyone, it is a great pleasure to say that my mother's
brother Eben has touched so many lives when he was with us. (My
mother is Ethel Hopson Ungarook) I am always looking for sources of
information and this is one of them that I have used. For those of
you wondering if Hopson's in Alaska are related to Hopson's in Canada
I believe Alfred Henery Hopson came from Wales but I have also heard
he came from Liverpool, England, maybe there is a connection somewher
if we did more research together and keeping in contact, never know
we just might surpise ourselves. Have a good day! Quyanaqpak! Hi

I was in Barrow back in 1986, and I know it is a special place.
For the people of the North Slope, expecially the children, we must
keep it out of the hands of those who would exploit it. Thanks for
the site and all the information contained therein. Senator Hopson

Hi. I came across your site while doing an assignment on
assimilationist education policies. All I have seen so far is Eben's
televised address regarding the school system in 1976. He was
obviously a clear thinker, a forthright orator and a fighter for
individual and national rights against attempts to subsume them into
the national but alien culture. As a member of that same kind of
culture in Australia, I find contacts like this unsettling. And I'm
glad I do. Thank you for having this site. Kindest regards, Doug PS
